Dorton Group recently completed a 12 week difficult demolition project for American Express in Brighton on time and within budget without incident or accident.

Dorton Group Managing Director Duke Harvey was delighted with the outcome of this important undertaking for the company “This was testimony to the fact that our investment in quality people, processes and machinery is fully justified. This was a complex and challenging project and our customer’s faith and trust in our ability to execute it successfully was fully repaid”.

The scope of the project included demolition of several industrial buildings, crushing of arisings and the supply and laying of a piling mat across the steep incline multi-tier 4,300 metre site in readiness for the new AMEX building. Over 45,000m³ of material was removed in a sustainable manner without landfill or the creation of waste. This involved in excess of 9,000 movements from the site which is centrally located in the heart of the city but through careful preparation, planning and daily coordination the project ran without one complaint or traffic violation.
