Who are you?

Dde is the trading name for Dorton Demolition & Excavation Ltd
Das is the trading name for Dorton Asbestos Removal Services Ltd
Dre is the trading name for Dorton Reclamation & Recycling

How long have you been operating?

Dorton have been in the business of Demolition, dismantling, excavation, Land remediation, reclamation and recycling for 24 years. The asbestos division have been in operation for 8 years.

Would you carry out emergency works?

Yes, we are on call 24 hours a day all year round to deal with dangerous structures, flood defences, fire damage, land erosion, in fact just about anything that needs a rapid response.

Do you operate your own plant & vehicles?

Yes, all company plant and vehicles are wholly owned by Dorton. We operate, in general, a 3-4 year cycle of renewals and upgrade our equipment to meet the needs of an expanding and technological industry.

Have you won any kind of awards?

Yes many. We are proud to be recognised as an 'Investor in People' We have training awards from ARCA, site audit awards from our trade body the NFDC and 5 consecutive annual safety awards from the British Safety Council as well as the 5 star health & safety management award. We are also registered as a holder of: OHSAS 18001:20007, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 management systems.

What areas of the UK do you work in?

We have a very strong operating presence within a 50 mile radius of our base. However, we regularly work anywhere in the United Kingdom on all types of structures

What insurances do you carry?

Employers liability of £10 million Public liability of £15 million & Professional indemnity of £1 million

Is all your staff directly employed?

Yes, we only use subcontract labour for Specialist operations, i.e. scaffolding, hoarding etc.

What is your policy on drugs & alcohol?

Alcohol consumption outside of work is tolerated providing it does not affect the performance of the individual. Drug taking, other than that prescribed as medication is strictly forbidden. Our staff are advised of our policy on commencement of employment and are aware that infringement of this policy will not be tolerated.

What training does your staff undertake?

All Dorton employees, including administration staff, are put through a rigorous training programme commensurate with the job they are expected to undertake. As a minimum, all employees receive safety awareness, asbestos awareness and environmental awareness training. Our operatives hold current industry standard competency cards and most site personnel have an NVQ qualification or are working towards that goal.

Are you familiar with the UK Workplace Regulations in particular for Safety at Work?

Oh! Yes, we pride ourselves on being able to manage all aspects of legislation to ensure that our operations are safe and efficient as well as safeguarding the interests of our client and the public in general.
