Key Individuals

Duke Harvey
Managing Director

Duke is the founder of Dorton Demolition and Excavation Ltd and has 25 years of demolition and dismantling experience. He is an enrolled member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers and is the chief estimator for the organisation. Duke’s expertise encompasses many types of projects ranging from simple house clearance to demolition/deconstruction of complex oil and gas platforms. With extensive knowledge of bulk excavation, ground remediation and contaminated land projects Duke is ideally placed to advise on clients’ feasibility enquiries and development possibilities.

 

Terry Quarmby
Director

Terry is a 40 year veteran of the industry. He has extensive experience as both contractor and consultant for a number of demolition companies and developers. Terry is a former President of the Institute of Demolition Engineers and is a serving member of the National Demolition Training Group, Management Committee. Terry is the Dorton Group’s Director of Safety and the Environment, a role for which he is ably qualified as a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).

 

Frank Smalley
Development Manager, South West Region

Frank has nearly 30 years of hands-on experience and has a proven record of management on prestigious and challenging projects. He is an Associate member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers and has risen through the ranks undertaking the industries training schemes along the way. Frank has an avid interest in technically demanding projects such as bridges and marine environments.

 

Keith Revell
Accounts Manager

Keith has the most important job of all, as his efforts determine whether we all get paid, staff and suppliers alike. His popularity might ebb and flow like the tide but it doesn’t detract from his dedication and eye for accuracy, as one might expect from a former bank manager. Keith’s phone is also one of the busiest in the office and he will always give you a courteous reception no matter what the enquiry or problem.

 

 

Peter Young
Contracts Manager

Peter is another Dorton Group veteran and has progressed from site level to a senior management position. With over 40 years experience on a diverse range of projects, Peter is the ideal man to deal with any situation or issue that may arise on site. He has extensive knowledge of the asbestos removal process and has undertaken rigorous management training through the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) schemes.

 

  Dave Owen
Civil Engineering Manager

Dave is an experienced civil engineer and joined the Dorton Group to enhance his career further. Dave saw this as an opportunity to broaden his knowledge and has not been disappointed. He is now an integral part of the organisation and manages the ‘in the ground’ activities as well as advising on all structural considerations and new build aspects.

 

Julie Lambert
Office Manager

Julie has been with the Dorton Group for over 10 years and has managed the office administration through a multitude of changes. She is at the centre of the organisation’s hub, controlling plant, transport and labour requirements as well as dealing with the mundane processes associated with office life. Julie is the primary liaison between site, office and the client.

 

 

  Nicola Scriven
Office Co-ordinator

 Nicola joined Dorton having had experience in office administration and has settled in to a demanding role dealing with contracts, accounts, training and personnel.  Nicola is also the link between Julie and the sites of which the daily changes to routine mean that you have to be on top of the game at all times. 

  

Richard Meinertzhagen
Quantity Surveyor

Richard has a wealth of experience in the building and construction sectors and has made the transition into the demolition services sector seamlessly. His enthusiasm and dedication to detail has made the difference in being able to offer our client a first class and secure financial as well as numerical accuracy to all projects we have committed to.

  

Alex Kossakowski
Asbestos Contracts Manager

Alex is one of a new breed of demolition / asbestos managers. He has joined one of the fastest growing industry sectors and is determined to test himself further having graduated from University College some years earlier to cut his teeth with a large national contractor before joining Dorton . Alex is an enthusiastic individual and has shown he is well up to the task by taking the groups asbestos removal activities to a new level.

 

  Vic Ashby
Materials & Equipment Buyer/hirer 

Vic has joined Dorton Group with a previous experience working for other demolition contractors.  He is also an experienced former plant hire manager and salesman with a great deal of knowledge in excavation, crushing and lifting machinery.  Vic's role is critical to the smooth running of the sites as he is responsible for the supply of equipment and plant and the arrangement for the removal of all arisings.  This very demanding job is carried out with professionalism and a cheerful attitude.

 

 

  Duncan Rudall
Contracts Manager, South West Region 

Duncan is a young but highly experienced demolition engineer with a multitude of high profile demolition projects completed for major clients throughout the UK.  He is full member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers, serving on national council and is the Institutes director of events.  Duncan is working towards chartered membership of IOSH and assists the SHEQ director in carrying out site safety inspections and audits.  He is also a CPCS tester for many categories of construction and demolition plant and plays an active part in the Dorton Group foundation training schedule. 

 

  Nick Barker
Project Co-ordinator Asbestos & Demolition 

Nick is a full member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers and joins Dorton Group at a time when growing contract values and project numbers recognise the need for further expertise.  Nick is the ultimate project administrator bringing years of industry experience to a most demanding role liaising with clients, office, sites and civil/enforcing authorities to name but a few.  Nick has a unique habit of making the most difficult task or problem look easy to solve and goes about his business in a cheerful and professional manner.
